Q.004. Why traditional television are still using MPEG2 for broadcast video file format?
Video compression technologies are making improvements, for example: MPEG4/H. 264/H. 265, but new compression formats with a focus on high-compression ratio/low bit rate (e.g, <10Mbps), are needed in order to facilitate online streaming. Television broadcast original video files with high picture quality and they usually use low compression ratio, high bit rate (e.g. 50Mbps). In high bit rate case, the new MPEG4/H.264/H.265 compression formats hasn’t made significant improvement compared to MPEG2. The new improved formats, in fact, are making the compression more complicated. There are risks that it can disrupt TV broadcasting. Therefore, many traditional TVs are still using MPEG2 for broadcast video compression format.

Q.006. What is Blank clip?
"Blank clip is a kind of "control clip" with program title and duration, but the file path is not provided. The edition of Daily-Playlist has to be done one day in advance. However, some media clips can not be finished until the broadcasting day. Because the file and file path of the clips do not exist, users need to build a virtual "Blank clip" row prior to receiving the media clip. If BPlayer can receive it before broadcasting, the clip can be played once the file path is provided. Otherwise, “Blank clip” will be replaced by clips from “Spare-Playlist”.
Q.007. How to replace blank clip with the desired clips?
Blank clip can be automatically replaced with the clips from spare playlist when playing. Click "Setup" and choose "Others" tab and choose the spare playlist source path.

Q.093. What is a Playlist?
Playlist is a schedule for users to edit video clips, such as video programs and commercials.
Video clips can be divided into two types, "media clip" and "control clip".
Daily-Playlist is a 24-hour-schedule full of programs, and the name of the file is the broadcasting date of the playlist.
TV stations can play programs seamlessly by saving several Daily-Playlists in advance.
Q.094. How to add media clips to Playlist?
There are three ways to add clips:
1.Open file explorer, and select media clips from it.
2.Open HQP-VLib video library, inquire and select media clips from it.
3.Click Insert Loop/Live-in/Blank clip button to select a kind of "control clip".
Q.095. What kind of
"Live-in clip", "Loop Start clip", "Loop End clip", and "Blank clip" are regarded as “control clip”, and all of them can be added into Playlist.
Q.096. Is AppointedTime necessary for every clip?
The simple version of a playlist always keeps AppointedTime field blank. However, AppointedTime must be specified in the first media clip in Daily-Playlist, while other clips remain optional.
Q.097. What is AccumulatedTime?
The software BPlayer will accumulate the duration of each clip according to the AppointedTime of the first clip while users are editing the Daily-Playlist.
Therefore, the estimated broadcasting time of each clip will be automatically calculated, which is called the AccumulatedTime.
While running a playlist, BPlayer will re-accumulate the estimated broadcasting time according to the elapsed time of each clip.
In other words, AccumulatedTime will be automatically adjusted after each clip is modified.
Q.098. What if there is a difference between AccumulatedTime and AppointedTime field?
When editing a Daily-Playlist, users should eliminate the difference between AccumulatedTime and AppointedTime to make them identical.
By double clicking the Duration field, users can see the difference of time.
A large scale of time difference can be fixed by inserting or deleting clips.
If the difference is slight, users can pick a less important clip to fine-tune the duration by the function of Auto-trim.
Files can not be saved while there is a disagreement between AccumulatedTime and the AppointedTime after users finish editing.
Q.099. What will happen if AccumulatedTime is different from AppointedTime?
If there is a difference between AccumulatedTime and AppointedTime while playing Daily-Playlist, “clip number” and “time difference” will be shown by red flicker in the alarm area under the Playlist window.
After double-clicking the flickering clip number, BPlayer will find out the media clip in the Playlist, and users can adjust the Playlist to eliminate the difference promptly through dynamic editing.
If the difference is not eliminated, the media clip will be broadcasted according to the AccumulatedTime, and the AppointedTime will be ignored.
Q.100. Can inexistent media clip be added to Playlist?
Yes. If a media clip does not exist prior to editing the Daily-Playlist but it will arrive before broadcasting, users can add a virtual “Blank clip” row to save a space for the inexistent media clip.
Q.101. Does the broadcasting length of the clip have to be the same with its actual length?
No. A 30-second video, for example, can be broadcasted in 25 or 35 seconds. The excess 5 seconds will be extended by the last image without motion and audio effect.
Q.102. Can media file be partitioned and played in several sections?
Media file can be partitioned into several sections, so commercials can be inserted between each section while broadcasting.
Each section can overlap, and the following section does not have to start from where the previous section ends.
For example, a program of 55 minutes can be partitioned into 4 sections, but the total duration might be 48 minutes only.
In other words, 7 minutes of the program is deleted, so there is more time to insert commercials.
Q.103. Is there a limitation for the minimum duration?
Yes. Media file less than 5 seconds can not be added into Playlist.
Q.104. If the media file is not imported in VLib, can it be added to Playlist?
Yes. If the file is not imported in VLib, users can search it through "file explorer".
